2016 Melges 20 World Championship in Tuscany:
Scarlino, Italy (January 21, 2016) – The heart of Tuscany, known as one of the top racing venues in the Mediterranean, has been selected by the International Melges 20 Class Association as the next location of the Melges 20 World Championship. Club Nautico Scarlino will host the event on August 25-28. More than fifty teams are expected at Marina di Scarlino, one of Europe’s best host facilities situated near a proven race course. Clipper Race: Tropical near the Doldrums:
(January 21, 2016; Race 7, Day 2) – The teams have been contending with tropical squalls and patchy wind near the Doldrums in Race 7 of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The next crucial tactical decision awaits, the teams deciding to go left, straight through or right in the Solomon Sea, with a windless hole in the middle currently forecast. Qingdao leads the fleet, now followed by Garmin in second and Derry~Londonderry~Doire in third.
