Fremantle, Australia (December 31, 2017) – The weather forecasters’ predictions were perfect today. A south-to-southwesterly breeze kicked in during the morning on race day 3 at the 420 World Championships and escalated to a steady 22 knots with gusts around 25 knots over the race track off Fremantle this afternoon.
Although the waves had moderated and were not as brutal as they were two days ago, they still required careful handling by teams and there were many capsizes for those who got it wrong.

Volvo Ocean Race: Crew Lists for Leg 4:
(December 31, 2017) – The leaders of the Volvo Ocean Race, MAPFRE, will make no changes to the crew that won Leg 3, as they prepare to race from Melbourne to Hong Kong when Leg 4 starts on Tuesday January 2, 2018.
It’s a much different story elsewhere in the fleet where significant swaps are taking place. Some are scheduled rotations, while others have been forced by injury or for other reasons.
