Hamilton, Bermuda (June 8, 2017) – Sir Ben Ainslie and Land Rover BAR’s quest to win the 35th America’s Cup came to an early end today when Peter Burling and Emirates Team New Zealand sealed the British team’s fate by reaching the magic five wins needed against Land Rover BAR to progress to the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Challenger Playoffs Finals.
In the other Semi-Finals, Nathan Outteridge and Artemis Racing mounted an almighty comeback against their Japanese rivals, Dean Barker’s SoftBank Team Japan, winning all three races today to take the score to 4-3, meaning they will race again tomorrow to decide the second Finalist.

Britain to return for 36th America’s Cup:
Hamilton, Bermuda (June 8, 2017) – Land Rover will extend its support of Britain’s America’s Cup sailing team by signing a new deal to continue as Title and Exclusive Innovation Partner of Ben Ainslie Racing (BAR) for the 36th America’s Cup.
The announcement is a boost for the team which bowed out of the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda today after facing Emirates Team New Zealand in the challenger Semi-Final stage, losing 5-2. Land Rover BAR’s ends an inaugural campaign which had won the America’s Cup World Series before failing to advance to the Challenger Finals.
