Dear Friends in Christ,
We live in times in this nation where it is very easy to be anxious and worried about the wickedness that is rampant.
Still, the Word of God warns us that anxiety and worry don’t help. Psalm 37:1-2 is clear when it says, “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb (NKJV).”
You may long for evil and wickedness to be put down in this nation and this world. Is your desire in vain? You may long to see Jesus Christ exalted and praised. Will that ever happen?
Psalm 37 goes on to say, “The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, for He sees his day is coming.” As a believer today, you can know from Scripture that the wicked will not reign forever. In fact, the day of the wicked will be short in comparison to the joy and peace that God’s people experience, now and forever.
So how does this truth help you today? I suggest that you read all of Psalm 37 every day. Don’t neglect your other devotions, your other reading, but read Psalm 37 every day. It will only take a few minutes, but the reward will be great.
My favorite passage in Psalm 37 is verses 4-6:
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”
We Christians always have reason to rejoice because we rejoice in the Lord. No matter how dark things become, He is still the light of the world and the Way, Truth, and Life. He will never change!
