Call to Artists! Voyaging: A Themed Exhibition at Hui No’eau
A Sailing event on 2016-05-20 00:00:00
May 20, 2016 – July 28, 2016 6:00 PM
Let your imagination set sail, take a creative leap, and discover new realms of artistry! With an open call to artists working in any medium, Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center’s juried themed exhibition adopts an adventurous spirit in 2016 as we explore the concept of “Voyaging” – going on a long journey in the spirit of exploration.
The Hui encourages artists to think broadly about what it means to move through space, transition, wander, and pass from one place to the next. Grounded in a rich tradition in Hawai’i, this theme will take on a new meaning through artists’ interpretations – inviting cultural, personal, and visual discoveries along the way.
Receiving Day is on May 10th from 9am – 4pm at Hui No’eau, located at 2841 Baldwin Ave. in Makawao. The prospectus and entry forms are available online at huinoeau.com.
