Clipper Race: Three Times Across Bass Strait:
(January 2, 2016) – The sixth stage of the Clipper 2015-16 Round the World Yacht Race got underway today following the fleet’s successful Sydney-Hobart campaign.
The Henri Lloyd Hobart to Whitsundays Race is the sixth of 14 races which make up the 11-month global series which started from London at the end of August last year.
The latest race started this morning at 1100 local time (0000 UTC) from Hobart, Tasmania. The 1,631 nautical mile race to Abell Point Marina, Airlie Beach is expected to take around ten days to complete.

USA Claims Early Gold Medal at Youth Sailing Worlds:
Langkawi, Malaysia (January 2, 2016) – There were early gold’s cemented on day five of the 45th Youth Sailing World Championships as some moved to an insurmountable lead ahead of the final day. As the sailors returned to shore, there were a couple that stepped back on to solid ground safe in the knowledge that they will be on top of the podium come the prize giving.
By stretching out to leads that can not be passed, the Australian and USA teams already know they will be returning home with at least one gold each.
