Coastal day at Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup:
Porto Cervo, Italy (September 8, 2017) – Costa Smeralda served up near perfect conditions for the penultimate day of racing at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. All classes sailed an anticlockwise loop of Caprera, La Maddalena, and Spargi in northwesterly winds peaking in the mid-teens.
In the Rolex Maxi 72 World Championship, running in conjunction with the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, Dieter Schön’s Momo has dominated the last two days, but today others had their turn.

Skunked at Finn Gold Cup:
Balatonföldvár, Hungary (September 8, 2017) – The fifth day of the Opel Finn Gold Cup started promising with some nice wind on the lake, but just as the sailors were getting ready to launch, a fog bank rolled in and AP was displayed.
When the fog cleared two hours later, the wind had gone and Lake Balaton remained calm and largely windless through the morning and afternoon. Finally at 15.30 the race office pulled the pin and the sailors dispersed.
There are two days left to sail, with three possible races remaining in the opening series before the final and medal races on Sunday, September 10.
