Nile Class sails in the red sea? can it be?
Nile Class sails in the red sea? can it be? by Sierragoddess
The Nile Class sail boat is a wooden dinghy with a centerboard and a main sail and jib. The boat doesn’t have a spinnaker, but it has a whisker for the jib.
There are about 12 remaining Nile boats in good sailing condition in Egypt. Like the crocodile in the Nile, this class of boat is very rare.
The Nile Class boat was brought to Marina Wadi el Dome in the Red Sea as part of a Water Sports show. The owners weren’t sure the boat could handle the waves and sea conditions as it is designed to sail the Nile River.
The boat handled beautifully and stole the hearts of all that watched her sail.
