San Diego, CA (October 11, 2018) – The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) World Beach Games, a global festival of elite beach, water and action sports, began the one-year countdown to San Diego 2019. The local organizing committee is expecting 1,300 athletes from every Olympic continent, and more than 400,000 fans for the event. With 15 sports over six days (October 10-15) and qualification procedures geared towards attracting the world’s top athletes, the inaugural event will be compelling. Michael Spreads into Carolinas:
(October 11, 2018) – Now a tropical storm, Michael is rapidly moving northeast through the Carolinas. The storm is accelerating through the Carolinas with high wind gusts and flooding rain from the southern Appalachians to parts of the East Coast. The center of Michael will continue to accelerate to the east-northeast through tonight across the Carolinas into southeast Virginia, then move off the East Coast out to sea as a post-tropical low. Michael was the first Category 4 hurricane to make landfall on the Florida Panhandle. Details.
