Fishing Boats after a Storm, Jean-Joseph Weerts by Universal Pops (David)
So little time for Flickr, just posting and not placing in groups–and slowly viewing the wonderful photos of my contacts! I truly appreciate all the views and comments very much!
This is one of 8 photos in a series—the full painting plus 7 details.
“Fishing Boats after a Storm” in the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History is by a French (or Belgian painter) Jean-Joseph Weerts (1847-1927). His more significant works appear to be nationalistic, relating to the French Revolution or other events in French history. This work dates probably from the late 19th century. Some of his works can be found in the Musée d’Orsay, Paris; some of his more monumental art works are in the Sorbonne and the Paris Mint. Not much seems to be available on this artist on-line.
