FAAS Volunteer Orientation
A Yacht Club event on 2016-01-09 10:30:00
Prospective volunteers must first attend an orientation to learn about the function of FAAS and the various volunteer opportunities. Orientations are one per month. Next orientation; DATE: January 9, 2016 TIME: 10:30 am to 12 pm Space is limited to 20 participants LOCATION OF THE JANUARY ORIENTATION: Ballena Bay Yacht Club 1150 Ballena Blvd, Alameda (orientations are not at the shelter) FAAS requires at least a six month commitment of volunteering (8 hours per month). FAAS relies on the support of the volunteers and their commitment to the time requested. Please note that we are unable to accommodate community service volunteers who cannot make this time commitment. Adult volunteers are 18 years and older. Junior volunteers are between the ages of 10 and 17, and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at orientations, trainings, and while volunteering*. *The Community Outreach Coordinator may approve volunteers ages 16-17 to volunteer on their own after all training have been completed. Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter relies on committed volunteers to make sure the animals at the shelter get the best care possible. The work that FAAS accomplishes each year would not be possible without the generous contribution of time that volunteers give to the shelter. By joining the FAAS team, you are helping to achieve our mission of finding new homes for all adoptable shelter pets, and educating the community to prevent animal neglect and cruelty.
