Final stage for Laser Europeans:
Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal (May 23, 2019) – The Laser European Championship began the final stage with the top 54 Standard Rig men and 60 Radial Rig women advancing to gold fleet. Two races were completed today with Olympic champion Tom Burton (AUS) scoring a 2-2 to build a 16 point lead while Anne-Marie Rindom (DEN) continues her dominance with a 1-3 to now hold a 33 point lead. Among the top North Americans, Chris Barnard (USA) fell hard to 21st while Erika Reineke (USA) moved up to 9th, with Sarah Douglas (CAN) now in 11th. Details.

Don’t you love the racing stories that begin with, “Remember when we had 75 or 100 boats for the Such-and-Such Regatta?
