Holz Wins Chicago Match Race Invitational:
Chicago, IL (October 9, 2016) – Eight teams competed this weekend in the Autumn Invitational, the final event of the Chicago match racing season. The mostly Chicago-based field of teams sailed in Chicago Yacht Club’s fleet of Sonars. Peter Holz’s Windy City Match Race Team, with crew Meg Six and Mike Whitford won the event. Steve Lowery’ Shadow Racing Team with crew Jacob Bruce and Travis Cottle finish second. The finals came down to 2-2 before Holz won the final race. Andy Camarda wins the Petite-Finals and finishes 3rd overall. Mark Johnson took 4th place. Full Report

Gulari Wins Melges 24 U.S. Nationals:
Lake Geneva, WI (October 9, 2016) – The Line Honors 2016 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship concluded today, hosted by the Lake Geneva Yacht Club. Two races were run today. In first overall, with 33 points, is team West Marine Rigging, skippered by Bora Gulari. Gulari won the first race today, and did not have to sail in the second race. Team Embarr, skippered by Conor Clarke, from Dublin, Ireland, moved into second place overall with a second and sixth place today, finishing the regatta just two points behind Gulari. Full Report.
