IDEC SPORT Stops Bleeding:
(December 27, 2016; Day 12, 22:31 FR) – Francis Joyon (FRA) and his five crew on the 31.5m VPLP-designed trimaran IDEC SPORT have finally found some speed in their bid to win the Jules Verne Trophy for fastest outright time around the world. After losing ground for the past week, their latest 24 hour run of 867 nm has the deficit decreasing to 669 nm (+76 nm) behind the current time set in January 2012 by Loïck Peyron and his crew on the 40 VPLP-designed trimaran Banque Populaire V of 45 days, 13 hours, 42 minutes and 53 seconds.

Vendée Globe: Three in the Atlantic:
(December 27, 2016; Day 52, 17:41 FR) – After setting out on five different round the world races or record attempts, Jérémie Beyou today rounded Cape Horn, laying to rest the spectres of his past attempts as he holds an excellent, hard earned third place overall in this eighth edition of the Vendée Globe solo round the world race.
Beyou passed the famous Cape at 1344hrs UTC, rounding some four days, one hour and 10 minutes after the race leader Armel Le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire VIII) and two days two hours and two minutes after the British sailor Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss). The 260 horsepower 5.0 liter Mercruiser MPI Bravo engine provides lots of power for towing skiers and lots of speed when you want it.
There’s lots of great options including a remote controlled five inch floodlight, fresh water cooling and a canvas cockpit cover. The great looking hull comes in two tone black, two tone pewter or two tone blue making for a great looking boat.
The 24 foot long cruiser is the perfect boat for a long leisurely cruise up and down Florida’s coasts or the inland waterway. It’s also great for skiing and wake boarding.
