Lauderdale YC wins Opti Team Race Nationals:
Pensacola, FL (July 22, 2018) – The Lauderdale Yacht Club team of Connor Boland, Sara Schumann, Laura Hamilton, Jack Redmond, and Lucy Meagher pulled in the 3-2 victory over Long Island Sailing Optimist Team – Black to win the 2018 Optimist Team Racing US National Championship.

Larchmont Race Week 2018:
The western end of Long Island Sound has the reputation of being a light-air venue during the summer. However, Larchmont Race Week 2018 disproved that theory as the wind gods smiled on the sailors from July 14 to 22 with puffs at one point approaching 30 knots. The full range of one designs and keelboats for all ages were competing on windward leeward and random leg courses. Additionally, Storm Trysail Foundation’s Jr. Safety-at-Sea seminar had 160 juniors sharpening their big boat sailing and safety skills on 20 racer/cruisers. Full report.
