Mixed Conditions at RC44 Porto Cervo:
Porto Cervo, Italy (June 29, 2017) – John Bassadone’s Peninsula Petroleum is ahead after day one of the RC44 Porto Cervo Cup following three races and a late finish off the Costa Smeralda, and much of the afternoon spent waiting for the wind to stabilize. The opening race got underway on time at in 12-15 knots from the WNW directly off Porto Cervo, but later shut down over the race course. After a two hour wait ashore, the wind finally did materialize and two more races were run in 8-10 knots. Full Report.

SAP Extreme Sailing Takes Early Lead:
Madeira Islands, Portugal (June 29, 2017) – SAP Extreme Sailing Team (DEN) took an early lead on the opening day of Extreme Sailing Series™ Act 3, as the international fleet of seven GC32s raced against the stunning backdrop of the Madeira Islands capital, Funchal. Following six races in shifty conditions, the Danish team was able to narrowly secure the victory, but with NZ Extreme Sailing Team hot on its heels.
