Two Hundred and eight boats are registered in the 69th annual Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race, the 125 nm course from Newport Beach, CA to Ensenada, Mexico. Hosted by the Newport Ocean Racing Association on April 22, the race attracts an eclectic mix of serious sailors campaigning multi-million dollar yachts racing alongside recreational cruisers. Les Voiles: Special Race, Special Place:
Gustavia, Saint Barthélemy (April 16, 2016) – The final race at Les Voiles de St. Barth ran counter-clockwise around the island and was a good choice for many reasons. It was an opportunity for the sailors to take in the beautiful vistas of St. Barth; it gave officials the option to shorten course if needed; and it incorporated all aspects of a good race course as far as reaching, beating, running, and navigating around the rocks and small islands off the coast.
