Paul Meilhat claims IMOCA win in Route du Rhum:
(November 17, 2018; Day 14) – French solo skipper Paul Meilhat at the helm of SMA was crowned the unexpected winner of the IMOCA class in the 2018 Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe solo transatlantic race today from Saint Malo in Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.
The 36-year-old French yachtsman from Lorient took the race win after benefitting from a 24-hour time penalty imposed on British sailor Alex Thomson who crossed the finish line first yesterday on Hugo Boss while holding a margin over Meilhat of more than 140 nautical miles.

California leads J/70 US Youth Champs:
St. Petersburg, FL (November 16, 2018) – The seven youth teams from across America that are attending the second annual U.S. J/70 Youth Championship were blessed with extraordinary fall sailing conditions on Tampa Bay.
While the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast regions were getting blasted with their first winter storm of the season, the youth teams from clubs in California, the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast enjoyed postcard perfect sailing conditions all day long.
