In the world of today, where the technology is constantly evolving, it is hard to keep a track of the various crimes and thefts that are happening. Especially when it comes to vehicle theft, it is often very difficult to track down vehicles, which are stolen all of a sudden, and they can never be easily recovered.
In the year of 1976, a new technology evolved from behind the scene and it was known to be the ANPR or the automatic number plate recognition system. The ANPR or the automatic number plate recognition system is today used for many tasks as in synchronization with cameras and mobile phones. Several objects of lighting such as the Appian strobe light etc is used with the technology of the number plate recognition.
The number plate recognition system is used for many a reason. Firstly, it is often used for collection of electronic toll taxes and also for maintaining the parking laws, rules and regulation. Secondly, in case of maintaining the traffic rules such as taking the details of the driver with the car who is driving above a particular speed limit can easily be executed by using the ANPR technology.
The Appian strobe light in this case is a wonderful piece of technology, which is particularly used for surveillance purposes. The Appian strobe light is particularly used in high security areas and also by several police vehicles in maintaining the traffic laws.
The ANPR or the number plate recognition technology is now a day used by several countries such as by the England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany etc. In these countries, the technology has become quite famous in no time and for this reason, several companies have come up offering products related to patrol and surveillance, which are particularly based on the ANPR technology.
The automatic number plate recognition may be an instant hit with the police of various countries and in areas where high security and surveillance is required, however, such a system have got its own disadvantages.
Firstly, in case of the ANPR or the automatic number plate recognition system, the images of the number plate or of any object which is taken by using the optical character reader technology may get blurred mainly due to the reason of motion blurring for which the picture seems to be hazy when uploaded in the database.
Secondly, the technology often uses low-resolution images for which the images are not actually visible properly in every case.
The author is an expert of military and surveillance equipments and here he speaks about the uses of the Number Plate Recognition and the Appian Strobe Light.
