Rodriguez-Tocke dominate Snipe North Americans:
The Snipe North American Championship attracted 28 teams for the three day event (May 19-21) in the ocean off Dania Beach of Fort Lauderdale, FL. With near perfect conditions, Ernesto Rodriguez and Kathleen Tocke dominated the 8-race event which enjoyed mostly sunny skies with East-southeast and ranged winds from 14-18 knots, with gusts into the mid-twenties. Whittemore retains lead at J/24 US National Championship:
Seattle, WA (May 20, 2017) – Keith Whittemore’s Tundra Rose may not have started day two of the J/24 US National Championship on a high note, but he sure ended on one…or two.
The Seattle-based skipper went into today with a one-point advantage, but notched a 19 in the opening race. His team then promptly added two bullets to now hold a two-point lead going into the last day of the Championship hosted by Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle.
Scott Milne’s Tremendous Slouch moved into second place overall with 30 points, just one ahead of Michael Johnson’s Pearl and Nobuyuki Imai’s Siesta (both with 31 points).
