There is never any doubt that bureaucracy slows down the process of doing just about anything. Companies and Corporations in the free-market work extremely hard to ditch bureaucracy, streamline processes and give their enterprises a Six Sigma efficiency boost. Why does government move so slow we often ask ourselves, why can’t they ever get anything done, and why does each piece of paperwork move at a snail’s pace?
Most of all we wonder how come government even works at all considering the truth about bureaucracy. Yes, it is totally amazing that government actually works, considering all the bureaucratic nonsense. Sometimes I think government moves so slow to protect people from it moving Too fast and disrupting the system?
Change must be tempered and moderated as you work to fix things while everyone is dragged kicking and screaming? The trick is to have a good attitude about it, and if you do, well that’s wonderful. Sometimes we all should take a deep breath and realize that government is what it is and understand what is really going on.
Of course, that does not mean we ought to let the Blob of Bureaucracy grow so large that it engulfs the Earth, rather we need to watch the blob and prevent it from growing exponentially, perhaps reduce it is size and then reduce it again from time to time. One politician recently said during the bailout and bridge loan hearings that General Motors needs a haircut, and perhaps this politician and her colleagues ought give the government a real good trimming too.
When systems become more complex, bureaucracy is a by-product and perhaps that is the nature of things, which seems to be evident, and yet, we must carefully watch bureaucracy to prevent it from swallowing up our life experience and driving us into a systematically controlled nightmare. Please consider all this, and let’s laugh at it all and then figure out how to fix it.
