Santa Barbara leads U.S. J/70 Youth Championship:
Newport, RI (August 11, 2017) – For the first day of the inaugural U.S. J/70 Youth Championship, the morning dawned cool and foggy, with a low-lying mist blanketing Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay.
At the 0900 hrs morning skipper’s meeting, the regatta PRO Kevin Dooley felt it was prudent to postpone on half-hour intervals until the fog lifted and the southerly breeze would, invariably, fill in and permit a full slate of racing for the day. None of the nine youth teams from across the country complained, recognizing everyone wanted the best and fairest possible racing to win a FREE J/70 for their sailing club!

Good day for North America at Aarhus Test Event:
Aarhus, Denmark (August 11, 2017) – A lack of wind made for a frustrating day, for many of the ten Olympic classes, on the fourth day of competition at the Hempel Sailing World Championships 2018 Test Event in Aarhus, Denmark.
Races were delayed, and some postponed, due to light winds in the Bay of Aarhus, on the penultimate day of competition for half the fleets, prior to the medal races which begin on Saturday August 12.
A light easterly breeze of 4-5 knots, with gusts of 7-8 knots, meant some classes did not race on day four of the Test Event.
