Strong field for U.S. Junior Women’s Singlehandeds:
The 2019 U.S. Junior Women’s Singlehanded Championship has attracted 43 sailors, competing July 11-13 across two classes in San Francisco, CA. Registration increased significantly for the 2019 event, in part due to the addition of the Laser 4.7 class which has attracted 12 competitors. Among the 31 sailors in the Laser Radial fleet, 12 attended the 2018 event and are back again to test their skills in the big breeze on San Francisco Bay. Full report.

Defending champ leads Optimist Worlds:
English Harbour, Antigua (July 10, 2019) – The final day of qualifying at the 2019 Optimist World Championship saw Italy’s Marco Gradoni, 15, take over the lead from Malta’s Richard Schultheis, 14, who had held first place during the first two days of qualifying. Trickier winds coming off the rocks did not phase Gradoni – two-time defending world champion – who won both races in his heat. Full report.
