Vallarta Race: Busy down Baja coast:
(March 5, 2018) – The competitors in the San Diego to Vallarta International Yacht Race are halfway down the 1000 nm course, with compression now occurring after three days of staggered starts. As the faster teams reel in the earlier starters, all the sailors have their eyes open for the abundance of commercial traffic coming in the opposite direction up the Baja peninsula.

Clipper Race: Light wind lottery:
(March 5, 2018; Day 1) – The light wind lottery that got ‘Race 8: The Sailing City Qingdao Cup’ underway yesterday from Sanya has continued overnight, with the Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race teams out east taking the early jackpot as they do their best to escape north, knowing that tougher, upwind conditions, await.
