This classic Chapstick commercial featured DN champion Henry Bossett, who this week retired from his long and successful career at North Sails.
“We headed up to Rovaniemi in Finland in November of 1986 for a 3 day shoot with very limited daylight,” reports Mark Itkowitz. “Above the Arctic Circle, the sun came up at 9 am and went down at 3 pm, and even though everyone wore Arctic survival suits, 30 degrees below zero was incredibly cold. Even my beard became a solid block of ice.”
The sail used in the commercial became a wall fixture at Bossett’s sail loft.

How to Help Storm Victims:
The Coast Guard is discouraging private boaters departing the continental United States from transiting to ports affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
While volunteers and aid are needed and welcomed, it is recommended that these efforts be coordinated through Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), who has requested volunteers to go through National Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD).
Uncoordinated volunteer efforts can hinder the response and impede a challenging logistics situation on the ground in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
