The 2017 World Sailing Mid-Year Meeting is underway in Singapore, wherein the organization’s leaders will meet to discuss, debate, and shape the future of the sport. Here is the recap from May 7:
The meeting of the World Sailing Council brings together the President, Vice-Presidents, Officers of Honour (non-voting), 28 appointed members (representing each of the regional groups of sailing nations), and representatives of the Offshore Committee, Classes Committee, Athletes’ Commission, and a Women’s Representative.

Not the Norm at Yachting Cup:
San Diego, CA (May 6, 2017) – It was a breeze on day as the Yachting Cup got underway today for most classes, testing nearly 100 boats competing on three courses in the ocean.
While the wind hovered at around 15-20 knots, it was 3-5 foot swells that were frequent and close together that made a rough ride for crews and boats. Add in the occasional rain showers and the day was certainly not the norm for San Diego.
