Yoga for Refreshment
A Sailing event on 2016-08-15 09:30:00
Program Description Join me in a practise that centers on Christ, and the word of God, while honouring the roots and traditions of yoga. My goal is to facilitate seekers in finding wholeness in mind, body, soul, and spirit through encountering Christ on and off the yoga mat. Classes include prayer, meditation, movement, expression through art and improv, rest and stillness. Come prepared to worship with your whole self as the Bible invites us. Bring a mat, water and a surrendered heart. Program Logistics Duration: 5 days, 1.5 hours (9:30 AM – 11:00 AM), Monday through Friday Ages: Intergenerational, 12+. Accommodations: Participants who wish to stay at Naramata Centre while attending the program can book indoor accommodation or a campsite for the week (Saturday to Saturday). For more information on accommodation rentals and pricing, click here. Program Leader Shirley Jorgensen Teaching and learning with Outreach High School students has been my passion for 35 years. Creating new opportunities where students can flourish resulted in my creation of an award-winning academic and personal development program for pregnant and parenting teens within our school community. A lifelong love of doing has inspired me to ride, run, sail and jump off mountains. Recently the need for being has compelled me to complete my RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) and to explore the mystery of yoga as an expression of faith. I am also learning the many ways of making yoga accessible to those of us with physical constraints as we age. Most of all, I want my students to leave my classes feeling better and more refreshed than when they came. Cancellation Policy Should a participant wish to withdraw from a registered program, they can do so with a full refund up to 30 days prior to their program start date.
